Episode 98 : Dark Side of the Moon

Ambushed by angry hunters, Sam and Dean are shot and killed and sent to Heaven. Castiel warns Dean that Zachariah is looking for them in Heaven so they need to lay low while searching for an angel named Joshua who can help them since he talks directly to God. While searching for Joshua, the brothers run into some old friends and family members, they also live out their happiest moments of their lives. Eventually, Zachariah finds them, and begins to torture Dean. However, he is stopped by Joshua, who claims to be acting on orders from God. Joshua tells the brothers that God is not willing to help them, as he already has helped them several times and it is revealed that he is the one who put them on that airplane in “Sympathy For The Devil”, brought back Castiel and now granted them salvation in Heaven. Joshua then returns them to Earth with their memories, where the brothers tell everything to Castiel. Castiel believes that he has been betrayed and loses his faith in God, and returns the amulet to Dean. As the brothers leave the motel, Sam tries to convince Dean that they can still stop the Apocalypse and, as they leave, Dean stops and throws away the amulet, leaving faith at that door.
